Healing Weight From The Inside Out

Things happen early in life that affect us later on. And our mind, body and emotions are never the same; until we recognize it and finally heal from the inside out.

I grew up in an alcoholic household. As a child, I was a “daddy’s girl.” But my father’s drinking led to abuse, cheating, and eventually divorce.

He had his own deep wounds — he was sexually abused as a child and later served two tours in the South Pacific during World War II.

As a young master sergeant, he saw horrors I can only imagine. That trauma — untouched, unspoken — shaped his life, and in turn, deeply affected mine.

When I was 16, he moved away and pulled back from our relationship, likely out of shame. Still, I’d get calls at all hours — my father drunk, unraveling stories of his pain and past.

He passed away in 2004, when I was 42. I hadn’t seen him in 26 years, despite trying. When he died, it was me who retrieved his ashes and went through his personal belongings. That experience left a massive hole in my heart — one of many I carried.

Alcohol was never my coping mechanism — I was too afraid I’d follow in his footsteps. Instead, I reached for something else: food. It became my comfort, my way of filling the void. And over time, I gained weight.

At the time, I was working in corporate finance. But something in me knew I was meant for more — meant to heal. So the following year, I enrolled in a healing arts school.

There, I studied clinical hypnotherapy, mind-body wellness, and the spiritual side of weight. I learned how true transformation isn’t just about the body — it’s about reconnecting with our heart, our soul, and our intuition.

Bit by bit, day by day, I began to heal from the inside out. And as I did, my outer world transformed too. I know in my heart that my dad is with me now, watching over me like a guardian angel.

For the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my life to helping others do the same — releasing emotional weight, reconnecting with their intuition, and creating real balance in their lives. And, I wrote an award-winning book about it.

It’s been the greatest honor of my life to walk with people on this healing journey.

Of course, my path wasn’t always a straight line. There were times when I stepped away — exploring other avenues or simply taking time for myself. But each detour taught me something valuable, and each pause ultimately led me back to my true purpose.

Today, my mission is to help you reconnect with your intuition. To help you heal, release old patterns, and create real balance — starting from within.

Not through willpower or restriction, but by tapping into the deep wisdom you already have inside you.

So I invite you to take a moment now: Can you recall a time when getting your weight into balance felt out of reach? Maybe that time is now. Maybe you’ve been stuck. And maybe you’re finally ready to rise.

There is a way forward — and it’s not about fixing yourself. It’s about returning to yourself. Because your story, like mine, is still being written.
