Narcissistic Relationship Recovery

Narcissistic Relationship Recovery and New Years Resolutions: Why They Both Fail

There’s a universal reason for why we fail at things in life, including new years resolutions (which fail 88% of the time). I’m often talking about relationships and getting our life on track after a narcissist, and believe it or not: It’s all related.

As an example, I was noticing all of the “engagement grabbing” social media posts from coaches that focus on narcissistic relationship recovery. They grab people’s attention by talking about how evil narcissists are, and asking their followers questions about how the narcissist tortured them mentally and emotionally.

They’ll ask questions that bring up anger, fear and other negative emotions, because it triggers people into chiming in on the post. But that doesn’t serve anyone, and here’s why:

It draws people away from their power by getting them to focus on the cause of their disempowerment.

It might be great for getting followers, but it’s not coming from a place of service. This is because it’s leaving people in a disempowered state, when being IN their power is what’s going to finally move the needle in their life.

It’s the same for new years resolutions or anything else we want to accomplish: We need to be in our power in order to make our goals stick.

And being in our power starts with taking our focus away from others. In other words: We have to let go of the life we had planned, so we can have the life that’s waiting for us. (We can’t have one foot in each world.)

So, focusing on the narcissist continues to gaslight us and take us away from our goals. (And we wonder why we continue to spin our wheels.)

After letting go of the narcissist or anything else that’s been taking our time, energy and attention, we need to get abundant clarity on our TRUE hearts desire; not what we “think” we want in life. (Because that never works.)

In order to get that clarity we have to go deep, which can be difficult to do on our own. It takes going to a level that we’re not normally functioning at. It’s a deep, meditative state.

Once we have the soul clarity we need, then we combine our new focus with our emotions. Because our emotions also come from the heart, and staying focused through feeling good about the goal propels us forward.

If we’re lacking passion and desire, then we lack the fuel that drives our dream. And there are tools for staying in that “positive zone” as we move along to our vision.

Being specific about the details of our vision, also helps to let our mind know exactly what we want to achieve. This way we’re not “floundering” in various directions and not getting to the detailed version of what we really want.

Also, there are ways that we can create the right clarity of vision and emotions that are the fuel for our success, when we know how to do it. On January 1st I’ll be going Live on my Facebook page and In My Group at the New Year Vision Party to take you through the process.

Join us there and let’s get you headed in the right direction; to a new year of being in your power and knowing where you’re headed. Because it’s better to do it now rather than wait and spin your wheels later.
