We have positive beliefs and negative beliefs.
So we need to look at both of those and get them into alignment with who we are and what we really want in life.
When we do, we get unstuck and on track to living a life that’s authentic to who we are.
Positive beliefs help guide us by stating what’s in our heart. We can discover what they are by journaling about what it is that we truly believe in: Deep in our heart.
For example, here are some of my core positive beliefs. I believe that:
- Every woman has a beautiful and unique soul.
- That she is deserving of living a life that’s true to who she is.
- That when we love ourselves, we actually step into our power and are much more effective in the world.
- Being on the right path for us not only makes US happier, but that happiness radiates to others.
- Being out of alignment with our true self results in being unhealthy: Mentally, Emotionally and Physically.
Now take a moment, and write down your positive core beliefs.
Those beliefs should be kept nearby as a reminder of who you are, and used as a guiding light to help you on your true path.
The other side of the coin are the negative beliefs that may be hiding in the recesses of our heart and soul.
Many times these beliefs are formed when we’re children.
Our parents, relatives or others around us say things or do things that lead us to believe something different than the guiding light we were born with.
For example, I grew up in an alcoholic environment and my dad moved away when I was a teenager, never to be seen again.
I ended up with a belief that I wasn’t worthy. After all, if he loved me then why did he leave?
But we need to tackle the truth. Because for me, the truth was that he had issues of his own (including being a veteran with PTSD), and it had nothing to do with me personally.
Now take a moment to journal about what beliefs may be keeping you stuck from following what your heart knows to be true. Where did they come from?
When we uncover those negative beliefs that block us, we can write them down and shred them.
Let those beliefs go. Then we focus on our positive core beliefs, and allow ourselves to become who we’re meant to be.
We feel better; mind, body and soul, and those around us benefit from it too.
